Europe to connect with America at 100 Gbps

Advanced North Atlantic 100G Pilot project was announced at the 2013 Internet2 Annual Meeting. Its aim is to upgrade the transatlantic interconnection of academic networks in Europe and North America to the bandwidth of 100 Gbps. Internet2, NORDUnet, ESnet, SURFnet, CANARIE and GÉANT shall cooperate on this activity. The press release provides further details.
