Data packet distribution between the three participating sites (New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Brno) was performed by the UDP reflector-a device device developed by CESNET.       <title>COMBO and COMBOv2 presented at the FPL 2008 conference</title>

      <description>At the FPL 2008 conference, we presented (in the booth of Xilinx, Inc.) the COMBO and COMBOv2 cards developed by CESNET within the Liberouter project, jointly with Stanford's NetFPGA project. Both projects, Liberouter and NetFPGA utilize FPGA technology for accelerating networking algorithms. As a part of proposed cooperation between CESNET and Stanford University, the 10 Gbps cards of the COMBOv2 are being evaluated as a hardware base for the 10Gb version of NetFPGA project.</description>

      <title>Technical report Implementation of DXT Compression for UltraGrid</title>

      <description>This report describes an implementation of DXT compression in UltraGrid, allowing for low latency, high definition multi-party videoconferencing requiring only 250 Mbps of bandwidth. This represents a substantial decrease compared to the uncompressed video stream, which requires 1.5 Gbps, while having a minimal impact on latency.</description>

      <description>On 9th June 2008, the CESNET conference room hosted a seminar dealing with the development of the e-infrastructure in the Czech Republic. The front speaker was Dr. Eugene Yeh, Director of NCHC ? National Center for Supercomputing in Tchai-wan. The Center is running the TWAREN National Academic Network as well. By the purpose and activities, the NCHC is very similar to the CESNET association. Due to the infrastructure and the system developed during the recent years, the NCHC has become one of the leaders in the branch in Asia, while ranking very high worldwide (in TOP500 supercomputers list) as well.</description>

      <title>Discussion about CSIRT.CZ</title>

      <description>A meeting focused on organisational and technical aspects of the CSIRT.CZ activity took place in Malostranský palac in Prague on 15th April. CZIRT.CZ is a part of security research carried by the Ministry of Interion of the Czech Republic. The goal os this meeting was to discuss the possibility of significant Internet service providers, content and risk-service providers to participate in the CSIRT.CZ workgroup and to achieve consensus in technical and legislative aspects of network security. Andrea Kropáčová from CESNET gave the main presentation as a leader of internationally-acredited CESNET-CERTS team. She is also leading the metodical preparation of CSIRT.CZ.</description>
