The project investigates theoretical and practical aspects of end-to-end performance in high-speed long-distance networks. We particularly concentrate on performance monitoring and study of protocol behaviour.Monitoring

PERT
We take part in PERT (Performance Response and Enhancement Team), which is part of SA3 activity of the GN2 project.If you encounter a network performance problem, try to find an answer in the PERT knowledge base. If your problem occurs when using CESNET network, please report the problem to our helpdesk. If the problem cannot be resolved quickly, a new PERT case will opened. Registered users can then observe the case development in the PTS (PERT ticket system) and in PTS diary.

Parallel implementation of sockets library to introduce parallel transfers into user applications. Different algorithms of distributing data into parallel streams can be used. psock-0.2a.tgzBulk + AIMD patch
Bulk tool allows achievable throughput measurement (iperf-like) combined with real-time monitoring of TCP run-time variables to debug performance problems.
AIMD patch allows to configure TCP congestion avoidance AIMD parameters (slope of additive increase and drop of multiplicative decrease) on per-socket basis.
