Voice services with SIP signalling
This section is under construction. Please look at the network infrastructure section to see the current state of development.
As a part of out project, we performed a series of experiments with SIP signalling. We used Microsoft Netmeeting and Cisco IP Phone 30 as H.323 clients and Columbia University sipc and Cisco IP Phone 7960 as SIP clients. We also used sipd (SIP proxy, redirect and registrar server) and SIP/H.323 gateway developed in Columbia University. The configuration is shown in Fig. 1.

We plan to install a SIP/H.323 gateway to allow SIP clients to make calls to our IP telephony network and vice versa. we also plan to begin connecting new institutions over SIP signalling. For the current state of installation contact Jan Ruzicka.
