Peering with our IP telephony network
We welcome peerings with other IP telephony networks. The peering will allow you to call any of our connected universities and research institutes over the Internet. We expect that we will be able to call institutions connected to your network. The service is considered as experimental for research purposes and as such it is without financial obligations on either side and without guarantee. However, we have substantial experience with operation of production IP telephony network and we consider our network highly reliable. In order to peer with your network, we need the following information:
- Contact person responsible for peering setup and resolving problems on your side.
- IP address of your H.323 gatekeeper or your H.323 gateway. Peering with your gatekeeper and gatekeeper-routed calls is a prefered option, but if you do not have a gatekeeper or if peering between gatekeepers does not work for some reason, we can route calls directly to your voice gateway.
- Phone number prefix(-es) of institutions connected to your network.
- Some testing phone number (such as voice mail or local weather service).
- We need to account calls coming from your network to our network (for network maintenance purposes, we assume no billing unless agreed otherwise). We need that your signalling messages include the calling number (or at least the institution prefix) and the called number (both preferably full international phone numbers) such that we can use RADIUS messages from our voice gateways to account the calls.
The corresponding information about our network:
- Contact person responsible for peering setup and resolving problems on our side: Jan Ruzicka, jan.ruzicka@cesnet.cz.
- IP address of our H.323 gatekeeper: 195.113.222.2 (gk1ext.cesnet.cz)
- Phone number prefixes of institutions connected to our network.
- Testing phone number: 420 596 991 192
- We provide calling and called numbers in our signaling messages such that you can use it for your accounting.
