Network and traffic monitoring
This activity aims at development of tools suitable for large scale, systematic and continuous network infrastructure and traffic monitoring.
The network infrastructure monitoring area concerns with the development of monitoring systems which gather, process and visualise information primarily obtained from network infrastructure components (e.g., routers, switches). We aim at large scale and continuous long term analysis of network infrastructure states and trends of its' behaviour and provide both overall views on sets of items as well as detailed information about particular parameters.
The traffic monitoring area concentrates on flow-based measurement and processing tools development. Our effort is to provide overall information about the whole network cloud as well. It lead us to scalable systems with distributed architecture and rich classification and filtering mechanisms and also advanced techniques of storage. We intend to give a long-term overall view on IP traffic (v4, v6) structure and trends as well as a step-by-step microscopic short-term analysis of particular network interactions. We are targeting the network security area support and incidents handling.
