Optical networks

Research and verification of new principles and technological trends for building of advanced optical networks (advanced modulation formats, transmission speeds above 10 Gbps). Evaluation and testing of deployment possibilities of advanced optical equipment (ROADM, VMUX, all optical switches,) both in research and production networks. Support of designs of modern optical networks based on wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) or time division multiplexing (OTDM) for sharing of bandwidth on demand (BoD) and for better availability of E2E services. Development of the experimental facility for support of further development of CEF Networks. Development of fibre infrastructure and dedicated lit fibre leasing, support and development CESNET2, CBF networks and the experimental facility. Collaboration on GLIF research and development, onward development of the GOLE CzechLight node in Praha.
