Design and deployment of CESNET2's DWDM core network

This paper describes design and implementation of the optical transport network backbone of CESNET2 NREN based on DWDM technology. The article is divided into following logical parts: technology, topology and optical network design. In the first part requirements of CESNET and properties of selected technology are described. The second part relates to technology solution itself and the process of implementation. It is enclosed by description of the current CESNET2 DWDM topology and prospective development. The last part deals with analysis and design of DWDM implementation on fiber optics used in CESNET network.
